A week after Iron Man, I barely trained.
My body had taken a hit. It needed rest.
And to be honest with you, it was a strange week.
I don’t think I suffer from FOMO.
But I felt like I wasn’t moving forward.
Not even by a millimeter.
Don’t get me wrong — recovery is part of performance.
I even teach that as a professor at university.
But you know that feeling… when your recovery becomes too passive?
I prefer when I’m at least walking. When I’m at least moving a little.
When there’s motion. But this week?
I was standing still.
My wife, in the 15 years we’ve been together, has asked me a few times:
“Why can’t you just live like a normal person?”
And I asked back:
“Who are those normal people?”
Those who go to the gym 3 times a month?
Those who sit at work 4 out of 8 hours completely zoned out?
Those for whom “own business” sounds like sci-fi?
Those who believe their maximum is commuting by bus and living paycheck to paycheck?
No, thanks.
I explained it simply:
Yes, I have high standards.
For myself. And for others.
For my basketball players.
For my athlete clients.
For my business clients.
“And that’s why I know one thing — it’s not about talent, it’s about attitude.”
And you know what?
Those who truly want it and don’t waste time just talking — they make it happen.

Like Max — a triathlete who’s taken multiple first places in the past months.

Like Stella — gold, silver, MVP, All-Star Five, and a member of the Slovak national team.

Like Eliška — Slovak champion in bouldering.
Because believing that being “not normal” is actually the only path to excellence.
Why should I expect less than the maximum from myself — or from you?
Why should I settle for average when I know we’re capable of more?
Now straight forward:
I’m not for everyone. And not everyone is for me.
Not everyone has the courage to look in the mirror and admit:
“Damn it, Pali’s right. I’ve got more in me. But so far I’m just wasting my life.”
Not everyone can stop feeling sorry for themselves, stop blaming the world, their parents, the market, the algorithm, the government — and take responsibility.
Not everyone has the strength to keep working on themselves when things don’t go well.
When nobody’s watching. Even now in summer, when it’s hot and vacations are everywhere.
When results aren’t visible. When it hurts.
But if not…
Then accept that “being normal” is your ceiling.
But if you feel there’s more inside you…
If you know something inside is screaming that you don’t want mediocrity anymore…
Maybe it’s time we talk.
And let me tell you upfront — it won’t be easy.
Neither Max, Stella, Eliška, Richard, Tondo, Basti, Marta, Adel, Peťo, Robo, Michal, Juraj, Katka, Jozef, Radomil, …
Had it easy. But what’s easy never lasts.
So you have to choose.
Either you’ll be the “normal one” waiting for things to magically get better.
Or you’ll be the one who gets up even when tired.
Who moves forward even when results don’t show.
Who decides that their standards will be higher.
And the truth? You already know it and feel it deep in your bones:
No one’s coming to save you.
No one will do the work for you.
And no one owes you anything — not the world, not the algorithm, not your boss, not your clients.
The only question is:
How much more time do you need?
The rest… you already know.
Always in your corner.
